HOT TUB INSTALLATIONS

At Roker Crane & Rigging, we love helping folks get their new hot tub up and running so you can start soaking right away. Whether it's a backyard spa tucked beside the deck or one that needs to go over a fence or into a tricky spot, our team has the cranes, rigging gear, and know-how to make it happen safely. We've been setting hot tubs all over Ontario for years—from small 4-person tubs to those big 8-seaters that weigh over 4,000 lbs when full. No job's too big or too tight for us.

Why Use a Crane for Hot Tub Delivery?

Most hot tubs come on a skid or wrapped in plastic, weighing 700-900 lbs empty. Add water and they're pushing 3-5 tons. You can't just roll those through a gate or up stairs. That's where we come in. Our cranes can lift straight over obstacles like decks, sheds, or tall fences. We position it exactly where you want—on a concrete pad, gravel base, or reinforced deck—without scratching your property or risking injury.

We've got flatbed trucks to haul your tub from the dealer, plus all the straps, slings, and spreader bars to keep it secure during the lift. One wrong move and you could crack the shell or worse. Our operators do this every week, so we know how to handle the angles, wind, and uneven ground that come with most installs.

The Prep Work We Walk You Through

Before we show up, we'd like to chat about your site. Got a level spot? Good drainage? Room for the crane to set up (usually 20-30 feet clear)? We measure the access and lift path during the site visit.

Most installations typically need the following:

● A solid, level base (4-6 inches of compacted gravel or concrete).

● 220V electrical hookup by a licensed electrician.

● Clear path for the truck and crane boom.

If you're placing it on a deck, we check the weight rating first. Typical residential decks handle 50-100 lbs per sq ft. A full hot tub needs reinforcement and we will flag that upfront.

Step-by-Step Hot Tub Lift Process

  • 1. Site Setup (30 mins)

We scout the yard, position the crane, and uncrate the tub if needed. You point, we lift.

  • 2. The Lift (5-10 mins)

Crane takes the weight smoothly without bouncing. We swing it over obstacles and lower it to a dead level. Tag lines keep it steady.

  • 3. Final Positioning

Gently set it down, check connections, and make sure it's plumb. Our guys level it with shims if the base isn't perfect.

  • 4. Cleanup & Walkthrough

We pack up, haul away the crate, and show you how to check for leaks or issues. You're ready to fill it up!

The whole job is usually done in under 2 hours. We quote you after seeing the site; no surprises.

Common Hot Tub Install Scenarios We Handle

● Backyard Over Fence: Lift 10-20 feet high over the privacy fence or pool barrier. Most popular call.

● Deck or Patio Drop: Through the roof overhang or between tight trees.

● Side Hill or Slope: Crane sets it perfectly level, even on uneven ground.

● Indoor Basement: Rare, but we do lower through hoist openings.

● Multi-Level: From the driveway up to the second-story deck.

We've done hundreds of projects without a hitch.

Electrical and Final Setup Tips

We don't wire (that's electrician territory), but here's what works best:

● 50-amp GFCI breaker, 6-gauge wire, 20-50 feet from panel

● Fill with hose to just above the jets, then add chemicals per the manufacturer's instructions.

● Run jets 15 mins to bleed air, check for leaks.

We stick around to test stability and answer questions. Most tubs are ready to heat up the same day.

Why Roker Over DIY or Basic Delivery?

Hand trucks and ramps? Risky for heavy tubs - shells crack easily. Basic delivery guys bring it to your gate and leave. We  get it exactly where it belongs, level and secure. No damage claims, no sore backs, no calling us to fix a tipped tub.

We're fully covered for lifts up to 20 tons. Certified operators, daily equipment checks. Peace of mind while you relax.
